Bruxism treatment with neuroprotein therapy
Modern
comprehensive
approach in the treatment
of bruxism
In the modern world, bruxism has become a very common problem. Excessive, pathological clenching of the teeth and teeth grinding, predominantly at night or during periods of intense concentration or stress, are its main symptoms. Causes may include dental or neurological disorders, as well as psychosomatic factors. Often, however, the condition represents a combination of all of the aforementioned factors.
Unfortunately, a comprehensive modern approach to treating this issue is uncommon. At Masych Clinic in Ivano-Frankivsk, our highly skilled doctors use internationally recognized treatment protocols to effectively treat bruxism.
Most individuals who suffer from bruxism are unaware of what is happening to them, and as a result, experience a range of symptoms without understanding their cause or how to address them.
Main symptoms of bruxism:
- Excessive tooth wear.
- Dysfunction of one or both joints.
- Discomfort in the chewing muscles.
- Pain while chewing.
- Difficulty opening the mouth.
- Headaches in the temple and/or back of the head.
- Enlarged chewing muscles.
For the treatment of bruxism, it is essential first to establish an accurate diagnosis and identify the underlying cause. We are proud that at Masych Clinic, a specialist orthodontist-gnathologist carefully studies the CT scans of teeth and joints. Based on the collected data, the doctor develops a treatment plan, in which neuroprotein therapy for bruxism plays a key role.
How does
neuroprotein
therapy work?
Using calculations of chewing forces, the appropriate dosage of neuroprotein (Botox, Dysport, Neuronox) is tailored individually for each injection area. The procedure lasts about 10 minutes and is entirely painless.
The medication begins to take effect within a few days, and its action lasts from 4 to 6 months. However, the relatively temporary effect should not be a concern, as therapeutic interventions are performed during this period to fully resolve the condition. It is also important to note that clinical studies have shown that with the use of this therapy over 1–2 years, neural connections in the brain are reorganized in such a way that the patient gradually stops clenching the jaw involuntarily. This effect occurs provided that all dental pathologies contributing to the condition have been treated and the patient’s psycho-emotional state has been stabilized.
If you are experiencing any of the symptoms mentioned above, don’t ignore them or hope they will disappear on their own, as this will unfortunately not occur. Seek professional diagnosis and treatment for bruxism at Masych Clinic. We know exactly how to help you.
