Modern dentistry at Masych Clinic integrates digital technologies successfully into our practice. One of these methods is the creation of a digital wax-up (virtual modeling of tooth shape) and 3D printing of the models for intraoral try-in. This allows both the dentist and the patient to approve the optimal design of the future smile during the planning stage.

This service is especially relevant for full-mouth restorations with veneers, crowns, or implant-supported prosthetics. How does it actually work?

The first stage involves designing the future smile using specialized software. Using a high-precision Primescan intraoral scanner, the dentist digitally scans your teeth and soft tissues, and also photographs your face from multiple angles. All collected data, along with the patient’s individual preferences, are sent to the dental laboratory, where a dental technician integrates the information and begins designing the teeth. During the computer modeling stage, the patient has the opportunity to view their future smile virtually designed and overlaid on their own photo.

Once the patient has approved the virtual smile design, the next stage, called the Wax-up, is performed. This step lets us transfer your planned smile directly into your mouth using a self-hardening resin. We then take another set of portrait and intraoral photos, giving you a very precise preview of how your new smile will look. At this point, you can still request any changes to make sure your smile is exactly how you want it.

Our patients love this technology. It lets them collaborate with their dentist to design the smile they’ve always dreamed of and gives them confidence in achieving the exact results they want!
